Between ancient and modern
In the thirty years since the death of Carl Orff's 1982 - 2012
Piccolo Concerto is a program and an ensemble consisting of flute, oboe, trumpet, trombone, bassoon, harpsichord and percussion, specially created for and dedicated to Carl Orff and the harpsichord and its rediscovery in the early last century. The neo-classical music movement of the early twentieth century who joined Carl Orff, which is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the death in 2012, fostered the rediscovery of the ancient composers, music, the instrument: the harpsichord. "Als ik de kleedkamer van musici achter het podium van de Theaterzaal van de Kees Boekeschool te Bilthoven binnenkom, is iedereen al klaar en kijkt vol verwachting van achter de coulissen naar de nog lege zaal. De laatste repetitie is net voorbij, de laatste aanwijzingen zijn gegeven, de loopmicrofoon is getest, de concertkleding in alle kleuren van de regenboog is aangetrokken".

Een beestenbende was het, maar wat een feest!
15-10-2010 Podiumbeesten!
Op 14 oktober heeft ensemble Podiumbeesten! vier kinderconcerten gegeven in het cultureel centrum Voorne-Putten te Hellevoetsluis. Meer dan 1000 kinderen van zowel basisscholen als middelbare scholen bezochten de concerten waarbij allerlei dieren op muzikale wijze naar voren werden gebracht. Niet alleen een feest voor de kinderen maar zeker ook voor het ensemble! |

Het lijkt wel of grote componisten een luchtledig om zich heen trekken. De werkelijkheid is echter, dat Bach en Handel verder uitwerkten wat eerdere componisten hen aanreikten. Zonder die eerdere componisten zouden ze nergens geweest zijn.
