Musician: Adalberto Maria Riva, piano

Winner of several national and international prizes, the pianist from Milan Adalberto Maria Riva received in 2008 a special mention at the International Competition of Music IBLA Grand Prize. A distinction which allows him to undertake a tour in the USA in April 2009 with a concert in Carnegie Hall, New York.

During this same month of April he has performed in Canada as soloist with the Sherbrooke University Orchestra and in duet, in Montreal, with the Swiss flautist Christian Delafontaine. His way of playing very elegant and aristocratic (A Bellisario, Il Cittadino) is expressed by touch loaded with great strength of communication and interpretation, with a sound which is not only clear and cristal but which reveals to be equally rich in colours and shades quite unthinkable: that is a sure sign of artistic communication. Adalberto Maria Riva studies the piano at the Academy in Milan and obtained his Virtuosity in 2001 in the class of Dag Achatz at the Conservatoire de Lausanne. Has given a number of recitals in Italy, Spain, Russia, Germany, Poland, Malta and in Canada. He has also played with the Mozart Orchestra at the music Academy in Milan with the Timisoara Philarmonic (Romania). Since 2002 he has been invited regularly give concert-conferences on the theme of pianistic literature within a number of cultural institutions notably in Italy and French Switzerland. As well collaborating as teacher in divers schools of music, Adalberto Maria Riva as also contributed to the awareness of the Italian repertory for the piano of the XIX century by the means of concert and seminaries and a recording devoted to Adolfo Fumagalli. As head of the Italian Cultural Association Momenti Musicali, he has recorded several Cds as well as being on radio programmes notably for Espace 2.
